Memento Mori

The concept of “Memento Mori”, which started in antiquity and extends to the present day, is a Latin phrase translated as “Remember that you are mortal” or “Remember that you will die”. In the 16th and 17th centuries, this concept, which became widespread with the Vanitas movement, has continued to be interpreted by artists who have shaped the history of art until today.
In this video, it is attempted to produce a visual representation of the concept of Memento Mori in ancient civilisations (e.g. Ancient Egypt, Inca, Maya, Ancient China, Ancient Rome) by using the natural language processing based text2image method from machine learning methods.
